ELIZABETH GARCIA: I am a woman of Tolima Grande de Colombia, cheerful, organized, neat freak, loving, and good books. Yavy I grew up in a beautiful village Natagaima, with paddocks, stables, mountains, landscapes, streams and bordered by the mighty river Magdalena.
When they were married to Jesus Emilio Zabala and my two children Diana Marcela and Juan Camilo, at age 32 in 1995, motivated by the advice of a dear friend, Melba Bonilla de Bohorquez, RIP who became a second mother, my arrival in the city of Cali, I began studying painting in pastel, with Olga Lucia Lopez. Chalk pastels are a magnificent, offering a wide variety of colors that can work with the fingertips, to reflect on the paper, the wonders of nature.
I focused on painting landscapes, fruits and flowers in a figurative sense, to allow greater openness and freedom, descrubrí painting is very rich, enhances the beauty of life. "When I'm painting, always accompanied by music and driven by the feeling, I forget the rest of the world, to express what I feel."
Involved in this adventure of color and light and the desire to explore other techniques, in late 1999, I started oil. For centuries, the paintings have been the means of most famous painting, and every reason. In this field you work with brushes and spatula to give a better reality for the work and onto the canvas.
Stuck in this world, I learned to observe nature, to capture feelings and images full of emotion and harmony and becomes important in the light and color. In this race never stop learning, that is why we must constantly research and learn new techniques.
He painted many pictures of which most have sold, and while living from art is not easy, if I devoted only to this office, I'm sure I would go very well and live it.
The world of underwear I like, this art is synonymous with refinement and tradition, although the rate declined by industry and daily life, fortunately not go out of style. He developed parts cross stitch and crochet (free towels adorning the bathroom, borders and folders).
In 2001 I wanted to switch the canvas with wood and took classes at the school of "Obra Negra" because as you can paint a painting on a canvas, you can do on the wood. In colonial times this tradition came to Colombia from Europe. Create an original ornaments, boxes, trunks painted with flowers, landscapes, fruits and figures implied. I learned to work the pieces of wood finishes, sanding and finished in tintilla and aged, wooden frames for mirrors, paintings, lamps and decorative items.
Currently my work has taken on greater realism, managing the shadows and lights so magical. I am a convinced to live, the key is love. I do not think there is a recipe for happiness. Therefore it is illogical that a country with many problems like ours, we do not appreciate the magic and beauty of many natural resources, which can translate into a box.
